The binding conditions for taking part in our courses.
A course booking becomes binding as soon as Bonnlingua has received the online registration form (contract) completed by the customer. The reservation of a place only becomes effective once the course fees and the registration fee have been received. The contractual service (language tuition) can only be used once the agreed fees have been paid. A booking confirmation is only issued once the full fee for the booking period in question has been received. The course fee must be paid no later than the agreed first day of the course. After one week of unpaid course attendance, the customer will be excluded from lessons; if payment is made later, no time credit will be given for the lessons missed. The booking is not transferable to another person.
The period booked by the student is binding. There is no entitlement to a time credit if the student interrupts or terminates the course early. After an interruption, there is also no entitlement to a new course corresponding to the current level. Students who do not attend an exam date included in the course are not entitled to a free replacement date.
Withdrawal from the online registration contract after the binding booking, or if the course is discontinued before the end of the agreed tuition period, is excluded. Course fees not yet paid (including instalments) must be paid in full even in the event of early termination, non-participation or inability to attend. A refund of the course fees attributable pro rata to the part of the booking period that is no longer covered, less a processing fee of 150 €, is only possible if a visa or the extension of a residence permit is refused (unless this is the student’s own fault) – provided that written confirmation of the refusal from the embassy or immigration office concerned is submitted.
Bonnlingua is not liable for lessons cancelled due to force majeure. A student’s absence (including through illness or holiday) does not reduce the course fees. If a teacher is ill, Bonnlingua undertakes to provide a substitute as quickly as possible or to make up the missed lessons promptly. Lessons cancelled because a teacher is ill will be fully compensated with time credits.
A minimum of 5 participants is required for an intensive course to take place. If this number is not reached, the course will still take place, but the lesson time will be reduced: with 4 students by 1 day/week, with 3 students by 2 days/week, with 2 students by 3 days/week. One lesson lasts 45 minutes. A maximum of one course day per intensive course may be used for a course excursion.
The school is closed on public holidays and Rosenmontag (Shrove Monday), as well as between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day. If public holidays (Easter, Whitsun, etc.) fall within a booking period, no compensation in the form of a time credit will be granted.
The course participant is liable for all damage they cause. The place of jurisdiction is Bonn.
